  • How do I send money direct to my Equity account from Abroad?

    There are various channels that you can use to be able to send money in your account.
    These are;

    SWIFT service- With this service, you can transfer money from your bank account abroad directly to your account at Equity bank. You can get the instructions using the link below; Click Here

    Money Gram or Western Union- You can send money to your own account directly. These modes are secure, reliable and convenient. You can do so by giving instructions whereby, you are both the sender and the recipient. This way, you will be sending money to yourself. After that, contact Equity Bank and we will put the amount you sent to your Equity bank account.

  • How do I send funds to another Equity account?

    You can transfer funds from Equity account to an Equity account through online banking. You can also complete a funds transfer form and mail it directly to Equity bank through our physical address

  • How do I send funds to another bank in Tanzania?

    Complete a funds transfer form, scan and email it directly to Equity bank Diaspora unit through our address Tanzanias.Abroad@equitybank.co.tz

  • How do I update my contact details?

    Send us an official/signed letter requesting the bank to update your file for future correspondences.

  • How do I give someone authority to operate my account?

    To give someone mandate to operate your account, fill a mandate/authority to operate account form and an Email Indemnity form scan and send it to the Diaspora address together with a valid ID. All copies should be notarized by a notary public or a notary lawyer.

  • How do I get my account balances?

    You can view your account transactions through the online banking platform.
    You can also request for a bank statement by sending an email to our group email address Tanzanias.Abroad@equitybank.co.tz

  • How can I access my account online and apply for a visa card?

    To apply for internet banking and the visa card, download the visa card application form, internet banking application forms and the terms and conditions and the Email Indemnity forms from our website; fill forms and send them to the Diaspora address together with a copy of your valid ID. Tanzanias.Abroad@equitybank.co.tz

    All copies should be notarized by a notary public or a notary lawyer.

  • How do I renew my online banking pin?

    Complete the pin regeneration form – available on our website and send it to the Diaspora address Tanzanias.Abroad@equitybank.co.tz

  • How do I get my visa debit card once it has been processed?

    Send a dispatch/shipment request to us through our group email address Tanzanias.Abroad@equitybank.co.tz

  • How do I renew my expired ATM card?

    Complete the ATM application form – available on our website and send it to the Diaspora address Tanzanias.Abroad@equitybank.co.tz

  • How does an account go dormant?

    An account becomes dormant if there are no customer initiated transactions for a period of 6 consecutive months.

  • How do I activate my dormant account?

    To reactivate your account, kindly fill a dormant reactivation form – available on our website and send it together with an Email Indemnity Form to the Diaspora address Tanzanias.Abroad@equitybank.co.tz

    All copies should be notarized by a notary public or a notary lawyer.

  • How do I apply for a home or plot loan from abroad?

  • How do I open a savings or current/checking account with Equity Bank Tanzania?

    There are various ways a customer can open an account. These are;

    1. To open an account online using the portal
    Kindly follow the steps below;

    1. Type the link below on the URL field:
    2. https://onlineportal.equitybank.co.tz.
    3. Follow the prompts to register your profile.
    4. Please note that a login code will be sent to the registered email address. Open your email inbox to retrieve the email from Equity bank Limited and use the code to activate the profile (Allow for up to 10 minutes to receive the password).
    5. Once activated, please proceed with the account opening process.
    6. For ease of the account opening process, please have the following documents saved on your computer in either of the following formats: Bmp, jpg or png.
    • A passport size photo.
    • A scanned copy of a valid Passport (first Page, second Page, last page and the renewal page if the PP has expired).
    • A scanned utility bill or valid driver’s license (for address verification)
    • A signature card (to be downloaded from the portal, signed and scanned)

    2. Email the application form
    1. Download the application forms, for your desired account type, from our website www.tz.equitybankgroup.com under the “are you a Tanzanian living abroad section” or Diaspora tab .

    1. Fill the form, specify the currency.
    2. Please send copies of your Tanzania Identification/Passport permit/visa on the first page and last page containing the bio data,and the renewal page if the PP has expired).
    3. Also send your most recent passport size photo (coloured) ,
    4. Attach a copy of a bill (e.g. electric, telephone bill e.t.c) or bank statement confirming your current postal address.
    5. An introducer can be; Equity Bank account holder (residing in Uganda or abroad), Equity Bank Staff, Diaspora Agent only if the applicant is known to them, Notary Public, Tanzanian Foreign Embassies or International Organizations of high repute to fill the 5th section of the application form and fill an introducer form.

  • How do I know my account has been opened?

    You shall receive automated account confirmation details of your account via email. Kindly send an email to our group mail address
    Tanzanias.Abroad@equitybank.co.tz  if for any reason, you have not received the confirmation after three days.
